Why is elliptic curve cryptography not widely used, compared to RSA? @SmitJohnth: 'RSA' faster than 'ECC'? How's that? The lower CPU consumption and lower memory consumption of ECC doesn't automatically translate to a faster algorithm? |

ECC algorithm pollard's $\rho$ complexity @poncho: Shouldn't they specify over what the complexity is said? I mean in a graph problem, generally the complexity is over the unmber of nodes and/or edges. Similarly, is it that for a number theory problem the complexity is generally measured for bits? |

What are the consequences of a MAC tag collision? this would make your authentication scheme fail, since you as well as the attacker now would have same MAC, but again there is another unlikely event that the modified message would not e meaningful or just gibberish( so as to specifically match the MAC)... |

Why is elliptic curve cryptography not widely used, compared to RSA? since you are talking about implementations, wiki says there are open source implementation available in openSSH and others. So, as a programmer if I'm prompted to use that; will it do harm to me or my firm? I guess not!! |
