PBKDF2 and salt @paulo-ebermann Interesting. But what if (hypothetically speaking), the password was a FIVE digit PIN and the EXTRA "random number of iterations" (apart from the 64,000 iterations) to be done was the absolute value of the middle 3 digits? |

What are the advantages of TOTP over HOTP? I think the real challenge is getting the time to be SYNCHRONIZED on the client end along with the server , in case of TOTP. |
