MD5 > Would multiple hashings increase security? Isn't the issue that rainbow tables, at last check were still at upper limits of 14 characters for MD5, since an MD5 is 32 characters it would require some rather large tables to store all combinations of alpha-numeric combinations upto 32 characters. |

MD5 > Would multiple hashings increase security? I don't see how this is vague, he's asking if he runs a string through md5 and then pass the md5 through MD5 would that be safe against rainbow tables. The answer is clearly, Yes. |
