Is public-key cryptography the only option in this scenario? What are you planning on doing with the encrypted data? Without knowing more details, we can't even know if Public Key Cryptography is even appropriate. And, just as a random aside, make sure you're salting the password that you hash! That'll help massively against rainbow table attacks on the hash. |
