@KennyEvitt oh, no. Those aren't used right now in the real world. At least, not for storing passwords.

@KennyEvitt all of them. You hash the portion of the password you want to compare, and then see if the generated hash of the password portion matches the saved hash. Strict equality is the only thing you can test. Attributes like "is this a noun" clearly are not an option.

@poncho Thanks. It doesn't appear that this is actually being used in production though, right? I see some mention of it in some versions of mozilla NSS, but that's about it.

@poncho can you link to info on that? All RSA key generation code I've seen use probabilistic testing, so I'm interested to see what you're referring to.

comment In layman's terms, how does Shor's algorithm work?
It doesn't appear that there is a layman's terms version. There's plenty of explanations, but the algorithm isn't really definable without a whole lot of background knowledge.
