@nightcracker. It's ok, but it's not necessary. For example i can impose that each message $\ x$ is unique.

@nightcracker with x_0 = x_1 no MAC have different tag. this is the replay attack!

i have a question. If my MAC is MAC = enc(hash(m)) with hash = SHA-256 and enc = AES in CBC operation mode, then is it a secure MAC?
