On Stack Exchange, we believe the core moderators should come from the community, and be elected by the community itself through popular vote. We hold regular elections to determine who these community moderators will be.

Community moderators are accorded the highest level of privilege on our community, and should themselves be exemplars of positive behavior and leaders within the community.

Our general criteria for moderators is as follows:

  • patient and fair
  • leads by example
  • shows respect for their fellow community members in their actions and words
  • open to some light but firm moderation to keep the community on track and resolve (hopefully) uncommon disputes and exceptions

Every election has three phases:

  1. Nomination
  2. Primary
  3. Election

Please participate in the moderator elections by voting, and perhaps even by nominating yourself to be a community moderator!

I'm on the moderator race since the flag must be carried with someone as a moderator. If you think that it is my turn I'll be glad.

  • I would continue the maintain the site as I did a user with more responsibility.
  • The conflicts should be solved in an agreement.
  • In general, instead of acting immediately, I'll wait for the community's response. If it is clear, like the close/migrate of programming questions, I'll act immediately. The SEJPM wrote a nice guide for all.
  • Hey I know I'm not perfect, too.

I'll throw my hat into the ring; I've been a member of this stackexchange for quite a while; I feel like it might be my turn to serve.

As moderator, I would do what I could to maintain the site; the biggest change probably would be I would be a bit more free in migrating questions on other stackexchange sites (informational security, quantum computing, stack exchange itself) as I felt appropriate.

If you are kind enough to make me a moderator:

  • I'll try my best to keep crypto.SE peaceful, solving the inevitable issues and conflicts by agreement when at all possible.
  • My style will be: rather let things as is than regret an action. I'll only close/migrate a technical question if its topicality × interest score is irreparably low, or if it is offensive.
  • At last, I'll be able to edit my own comments for typos!
