I am writing an assignment on cryptography and government surveillance. My assignment is split between math and english therefore I have to include a english book (digital fortress by Dan Brown) and some actual mathmatical proof for the most common methods in cryptography (AES and RSA for example). For my assignment I need a problem statement that can encapsulate my whole assignemnt where part of it is relates to english (digital fortress, which is mostly about the civil liberties and ethical implications of cryptograpghy) and some to actual methods for cryptography. For example: How is cryptography used and the consequences that follows?

Do you guys have any ideas to possible problem statement?

    $\begingroup$ Hey dsrtsdehs! Welcome to crypto.SE. These kind of "unanswerable" questions are usually not allowed on this site, and I expect that this will get removed within a few hours. You haven't really said what your education background is, I will assume secondary. I recall I wrote something about RSA back then, but I think that elliptic curves may also be interesting to you, and possibly a bit easier to "see" and comprehend. The zero-knowledge vs e.g. getting a full document with personal information (such as in a digital certificate or signed document) is definitely on topic and has real life ethical implications.
