Stream cipher vs OTP, with /dev/urandom and secure key exchange

Are there other factors to consider? (Note: I believe the staff can store their OTP securely). The obvious issues are authentication of data and storage of keys. I will presume the data being encry …

Text cipher option that can decrypt the same ciphertext to two DIFFERENT and DESIRED outputs...

Ways to do this (for fun) depend on your requirements. If the passwords must be human readable then it makes things more difficult. I assume plaintexts match in size. If passwords need not be human …

Does varying ChaCha rounds add any security?

This paper introduces 'Freestyle' a randomized, and variable round version of the ChaCha cipher. It uses the concept of hash based halting condition, where a decryption attempt with an incorrect key i …

Stream cipher and block cipher usage in network data encryption

Why are stream ciphers considered to be better than block ciphers in low layer encryption and block ciphers considered to be better for higher lever encryption? Traditionally this seems to be the …

Would a key recovery attack on ChaCha's keystream would be made more secure with an AONT?

To be clear I'm well aware that ChaCha doesn't need to be "improved". Also, I have no intentions or misguided ideas about trying to "improve" it. My question is hypothetical, and is inspired by the …
